At Joanna Evans Cake Design we believe that the journey in creating your cake should enhance your memories of your wedding day. With all the excitement of booking a venue, selecting flowers, etc. the cake – a major focal point of the day – is often left till last.
Ideally as much notice as possible should be given in booking your cake as we work on a first come first serve basis, and along with our policy of not accepting more than 2 cakes per date, you can be assured of our highest care & attention at any time during your day.

The ideal way to design your perfect wedding cake is to start with a pre-booked, no obligation design consultation and tasting session, which can be held in the evenings or at weekends at my home. Before we meet you will be asked to complete a form giving information about your cake.

This also enables me to create a mood board where I can supply ideas for you depending upon your requirements. Every one of our creations is designed to meet your dream and is as unique as both of you. By meeting you personally we are able to understand more clearly your dreams and ideas and can combine these into your cake design. Our meeting is not only to discuss ideas but to leave you confident that your cake is “the cake of your dreams”

Inspiration can be taken from the design of the dress, the invitations, a colour scheme; the list is only limited by your imagination. It is advisable to bring any items that you wish to incorporate into your design along with you i.e. brooches, fabric swatches. Once the flavours have been chosen along with the style of cake the designing can start!

Your cake will take shape first in the form of a sketch which will be properly drawn up and presented to you once a booking is confirmed. This is so that you can see what your cake will look like and be able to make changes before confirming the final design.

All of our cakes are made from the finest ingredients and are freshly baked. Designs can range from simple ribbons to hand decorated toppers, to exquisite sugar crafted flowers. After the consultation, we will email to you our proposal based on the ideas and designs discussed, providing you with a breakdown of all the options.
