Hanbury Wedding Barn Photoshoot

Last week I visited the wonderful Hanbury Wedding Barn just outside Burton Upon Trent. Open in 2019 and describing itself as ‘relaxed, rustic and stylish’, it is a venue like no other. With an outdoor Pavilion overlooking a lake, a spacious courtyard, exclusive use, and family-run, what more could you ask for?

Joining me, whilst social distancing was Louise from Lush Occasions and Helen from Helen Howard Photography. Our theme was rustic and relaxed introducing new ideas such as dried flowers.

For our cake, it was decided on a semi-naked cake along with a fondant covered base. This was then decorated with rustic dried flowers including dumosa, amaranthus, and larkspur, along with eucalyptus.

A feature to consider at your wedding is a backdrop to your cake or cake table. Not only does this hide a plain wall it can also create another area similar to your venue decor. By dressing this area up, when you come to cut the cake you will be able to look back on a very special moment in a lovely surrounding.
