Grangefields Wedding Venue

In recent years, foliage has played a larger part in many weddings creating a fresh, modern, and romantic feel. Teamed with simple white roses and lots of filler flowers the effect is elegant, simple, and clean looking. Wedding foliage adds texture, depth and interest which can be hard to achieve sometimes with just flowers. Including foliage which can be delicate, wispy, powdery, subtle, seasonal, and scented, along with various hues of green can create a stunning display at your wedding in lots of different areas.

At a recent styled shoot at the gorgeous Cripps and Co Grangefields Barn this effect was created to go with the eclectic mix of natural wood, brickwork and metal running throughout the wedding venue. Grangefields is a new Derbyshire wedding venue situated on the historic Trusley Estate. Boasting a ceremony capacity of 160 in the Oak room and up to 175 dining in or outside, this venue can offer something for everyone’s tastes including a show kitchen with BBQ, French rotisserie and a rotating pizza oven. Along with a state of the art sound system for all that late night dancing and a late license until 12:30 this venue is perfect to celebrate your special day with family and friends.

To create a romantic feel, Jenna from Rent for your Event used soft drapes and candles placed in front of a large floral & foliage arch, which created a breath-taking focal point where everyone gathers in The Oak Room to witness your vows. Along the aisle were floating candles in water at different heights which caught the light as it streamed in from the windows.

Inside the main room, where you have your wedding breakfast, feels spacious and yet still intimate enough for everyone to feel included. A modern, fashionable, and contemporary feeling is achieved by foliage hanging down from the rafters. Paige from Under the Cover events used a lovely mix of tall and very thin elegant white candles which again were surrounded by smaller candles and some foliage.

One side of this room is glass, overlooking the courtyard, which lets the light stream in, catching the textured coloured glasses on the table. Modern, contemporary menu cards and name places sit on top of white gloss plates which sit on gold edged glass charger plates and are surrounded by gold cutlery. The table numbers created by Jenna Claire Stationery are written in calligraphy on frosted glass boards.

The cake, made by us, is simply placed on a wooden table draped in white fabric with ruscus foliage. This simple effect mirrors the other tables and lets the detail of the cake be shown. Positioned next to the wooden easel holding the place names, guests can see both upon entering the room. Covered in elegant white sugar paste with a patterned leaf stencil, the greens of the foliage and the white flowers and berries, all made from sugar, tie into the overall theme.

In the evening, there is plenty of space to eat, drink and dance and of course take lots of memory photos against a feathered backdrop with candy pink words saying “Lets Party”. If the weather is good, the outdoor courtyard is also another space where guests can enjoy eating, dancing, and celebrating your special day.
